The Miss America Organization is the world’s leading provider of scholarships for young women.  Scholarships are awarded on the local, state, and national levels.  Contestants are judged in Interview, Talent, Swimsuit, and Evening Gown. 

 

 

 

      Jennifer won three local preliminaries and competed in the Miss Mississippi Pageant three times.  Each of the three years she was a preliminary winner at the Miss Mississippi Pageant and named in the Top 5 on the live telecast of the final night of competition.  At her third state pageant, she won the title of Miss Mississippi 2002.

 

The Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was a thrilling experience.  She joined the other fifty contestants in two weeks of rehearsals and appearances before the competition.  She was given her chance to walk the famous “Miss America Runway” when she was named a Preliminary Swimsuit Winner and was awarded the Active International Business Scholarship.  On the final night, Jennifer was in the Top 15 and went on to be a Top 10 semi-finalist. 

 

As Miss Mississippi, Jennifer spent the year traveling around the state of Mississippi . 

 

Her experiences included:

Speaking as an advocate for early childhood development issues

Speaking to many schools and other groups

Appearing with Whoopi Goldberg, Ray Ramona, Debbie Allen, Delta Burke, Gerald McRaney and others at Stars Over Mississippi.

Addressing the State Legislature

Emceeing the Governor’s Conference for Women

Emceeing the Mississippi Disabilities Conference with Heather Mills McCartney as keynote speaker

Speaking to the Mississippi Preschool Teacher’s Association and was presented their Swimmey Award for outstanding advocate for the preschool child.

Participating in a forum with Dr. Craig Ramey, author of Right from Birth

Emceeing numerous pageants and other programs

Make numerous appearances at events throughout the state
